At 21:45hrs we (many staff and also 10 Guests) boarded Haleemath Dhoni one more time to make our way to Kuredu. It was Volleyball Tournament Final night. Everybody was excited- pumped and so much looking forward to this.
Kuredu Housekeeping (KHSKP) did start better into the game. However, the Turtles caught up and won the first set. The second set was unquestionably a win for Komandoo. Our boys gained confidence and scored great. But then, something changed in the third set, Kuredu was pushed by its home fans and scored, and scored, and scored. Yes indeed, they fought their way back into the game and won the third set. 2:1. Aaarggg….Komandoo supporters were showing support by yelling “GO Turtles! GO Turtles!”. Fourth set: Komandoo managed to regain the confidence, but Kuredu was pushing too hard. Emotions were boiling, not just on the court, but also off the court, where Komandoo supporter received yellow card for being a bit too supportive :o) Way to go boys!!! It wasn’t to watch….Really tight game and long rallies. Kuredu really fought their way back and won the fourth set as well. It was a tie and to be decided in the very last set, which was played to score of 15.
KHSKP was leading. They were smashing the balls, serving tough and made us feel very anxious. At that point my finger nails were down by half the size and legs were shaking. But oh what happened, the Turtles showed and incredible team spirit. They didn’t let themselves get disturbed by the crowed going wild off the court and this time, they fought their way back to a tie. WHAAATTTT!!! We could barely watch this. One more score, 13:14 for the Turtles….ONE more point to the championship. Kuredu smashed the ball and it flew and flew and flew- OUT! Wohooooo!
2015 Ramadan Volleyball Cup Champion = KOMANDOO !!!!
That game was…everything a final should be. Incredibly entertaining, captivating, thrilling and the right team (as I think, hehe) won!
A big credit goes to both teams- Kuredu Housekeeping which didn’t give up and boxed their way back into the game, and of course our Turtles which showed a great team spirit, didn’t let themselves get irritated by the happenings around the court and stayed focus.
Thank you Turtles for a great tournament- looking forward with much anticipation to the next cup in 2016!
For those that want to see the sparkling trophy- it’s displayed with much pride in our Kandu Bar- stop by :o)
